The CU Aunties are a collective of female football fans and dedicated Colorado Buffaloes fans supporting their “nephews” both on and off the field. It all kicked off in Boulder, CO, with the arrival of Deion Sanders,  AKA “Coach Prime.”

Those familiar with Coach Prime know that anything he touches is going to shine! And in true Prime Time fashion, he didn’t just change the game he brought a whole wave of fierce, loyal, football-loving women right along with him.

From coast to coast, Aunties of all ages are showing up, showing out, and standing ten toes down behind our nephews. And of course, we have to give a special shoutout to the one and only Miss Peggy the CU Buffaloes super-fan who proudly says #TheyComing in support of Coach Prime and his boys.

CU Football didn’t just invite us in they gave us all-access. From day one, platforms like Well Off Media, Thee Pre Game Show, and Reach the People Media gave fans a real, behind-the-scenes look that made us fall in love with our “nephews.”

That’s how the #CUAunties aka #InternetAunties era began. CU’s continued behind-the-scenes storytelling has allowed fans to truly connect with the players and root for these young men as they chase greatness under a fearless, game-changing coach.

Whether you’ve been rocking with CU,  following Coach Prime, his sons for years, or you just joined the wave—one thing remains the same: we love and support these young men like family.  Aunties stay tapped in, tuning in on YouTube to follow their journeys as they work toward their NFL dreams.

But the love and passion don’t stop at CU. Some of our nephews have leveled up to the NFL, and the Aunties continue to show up for them, on and off the field. Because once you’re a nephew, you’re always a nephew. You may also see #PassTPrime circulating on social media, referring to those who have moved on. The Aunties are still watching, traveling, and showing up as a united front to support their NFL favorite nephews too!

Why call themselves “Aunties”?
Some of the women are older than the players—so naturally, the “Auntie” title fits. In today’s culture, “Auntie” (and even “Unc”) is a term of respect, love, and guidance—and the ladies embraced it fully. It’s about showing up, pouring into these young men, and loving them like family.

And one thing is for sure… the CU Aunties didn’t just join the wave they created their own lane and made it undeniable.
